William Bartelt Obituary

William Thomas Bartelt was born on September 29 th , 1956, in Kaukauna, WI, to Patricia Carola
Armstrong and William Ellsworth Bartelt. William lived in Grand Junction, CO and was taken from us on September 27 th , 2021.
William is predeceased by both of his parents, his step-father Loyis Walter Lewis Sr and brother Loyis
Walter Lewis Jr “Butch”. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Jane Wells-Bartelt, sisters: Judith Clark, Barbara
Woods (twin), and Lore Murphy, children: Thomas, Dawn, Aaron, Crystal and Ashley, grandchildren:
McKayla, Morgan, Adisyn, Hunter, Connor, Carson, Hendrix, and a little one on the way, as well as
numerous nieces, nephews and extended family through his marriage to Patsy.
After graduating high school, William found his calling with the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He became baptized on August 9 th , 1976 and became an Ordained Priest shortly thereafter.
William remained an active member of the church and was an Ordained High Priest at the time of his
passing. William worked in retail sales throughout his career, including the past twenty-six years at
Peach Tree True Value Hardware. He was eagerly looking forward to retirement.
William shared a passion for crafts, watching football, and country western dancing with his wife, Pasty.
He was handy with his tools, and kept busy with wood working projects for friends and family.
Throughout the years, William was a member of the elks club, eagles club, then eventually the moose
lodge, where he and Patsy would enjoy dancing, socializing and spending time with their friends. Fishing
however, was William’s greatest passion. He spent countless hours at the lake with his children and
passed this love along to his grandchildren as well. It didn’t matter how often he caught the smallest
fish, or came up empty handed, William simply loved being out on the water.
William was a kind, gentle soul. He left a positive, lasting impression on everyone he met. He was never
short on corny dad jokes, and had the most unique, knee-slapping laugh that put a smile on the faces of
those around him. He lived a simple life, but his life was full of love, laughter, and people who meant the
world to him. Our hearts are heavy with sadness for our loss, but at peace knowing he is with his Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ.
William’s service will be held on Saturday, October 9th , 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2881 Orchard Ave, Grand Junction, CO. His service will begin at 1:00PM, followed by a luncheon.
