Mary Hess Obituary

Mom

Born in Santa Rosa, CA. on 2/7/47. Passed away in Grand Junction, CO. on 10/17/21.

Moved to Fresno in 1952.

Graduated from Fresno High in 1965.

Moved to Mancos, CO. 10/16/2019.

She always put everyone first and had a positive attitude with a great big smile for everybody. She enjoyed singing and dancing at a talent show with her friend Linda while in high school. She enjoyed the outdoors and living in the country. She also enjoyed riding horses until 1989 when she developed rheumatoid arthritis.

Married Steve Hess in Clovis, CA 4/10/1976. We have been very very happily married since then. We have one beautiful son from a previous marriage.

Carol is preceded in death by Her Dad, Glen Clark and Mom, Ethel Clark, one brother, Glen Clark and one sister Billie Mason. She has one surviving brother Dean Clark who is absolutely a pillar to the community and us. Dean told me a short story about Carol when she was younger. She was running home from some kids that wanted to beat her up. Dean wouldn’t let her in the house until she picked up a big stick in the backyard and went over there and hit the kids that were threatening her. So she did that and came running home and then He let her in the house. They never bothered Her again. Dean taught Her how to defend Herself after that. From that point of Her life forward She became tough as nails.

She is also survived by Her husband Steve Hess, Her Son, Victor & Wife, Christine Hess, Uncle Deward, Two granddaughters Alexis (Who we affectionately call Scooter) and Alisha (Who we affectionately call Peanut). She also has cousins Billy, Randy, Linda, Debbie and niece Cindy and nephews Bruce and Michael and their children. We both dared each other to quit smoking on the day we got married. It turned out to be a draw as neither one of us ever smoked again. However, COPD is what took Her to God.

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

WE WILL MISS AND LOVE YOU FOREVER HONEY
