Mary Lou Brenner, 91, of Cedaredge, CO passed into eternal life on August 26, 2020 at the Delta County Memorial Hospital, one day short of her 70th wedding anniversary.
Mary Lou Geiser was born August 13, 1929 in Fredonia, North Dakota. She graduated from high school in McIntosh, South Dakota in 1947. After graduation she was employed as a bookkeeper at an automotive garage in McIntosh until her marriage to Ruben Brenner on August 27, 1950. To this union three children were born, Linda, Dianne and Curtis.
Ruben and Mary Lou purchased a farm in Isabel, SD in 1963 and
Mary Lou worked alongside Ruben in the entire farming and dairy operation until their retirement in 1992. She accepted Jesus as her Savior as an early adult and was very active in the Isabel Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served in many capacities. Mary Lou had the gift of hospitality and welcomed many friends to Sunday dinners at their home.
Ruben and Mary Lou moved to Cedaredge in 2015 to be near family after struggling with health issues. Mary Lou was a member of Grand Mesa Baptist Church where she was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Linda. She is survived by her husband, Ruben, of Cedaredge, sister, Norma Brenner, of McIntosh, brother, Harvey (Beverly) Vilhauer, of Baker, MT, son-in-law, Nick (Barb) Tranisi, of Bellevue, Nebraska, daughter, Dianne (Douglas) McCully, of Cedaredge; son, Curtis (Helane) Brenner, of Lampe, MO, five grandsons and eight great grandchildren.
