John N Ellis,  77, of Orphino, Idaho, passed away on November 15th, 2019 in Grand Junction, Colorado surrounded by his son, Jeff Ellis, daughters, Tracy Ellis, Lori Ellis and granddaughter Baby Rose Madison Ellis.
       John's first son, John Raue Ellis passed away in July of 2015, although John Jr. was not there at the passing, he was there waiting to greet his father in the afterlife where he went to start his new journey.
John leaves behind nine grandchildren: Bryanna Ellis, Nick Ellis, Bailey Ellis, Colton Dan Ellis, Madison Ellis (Baby Rose), Tristen Ellis, Malli Ellis,Olivia Ellis, and Izzy Ellis. Daughter-in-laws :Lori and Dawniel Ellis.  John was the third out of five  in his family and leaves behind his only living sibling, Lilas Ellis.                                                                                   
                            

       John graduated high school in Lewiston, Idaho and attended Portland State College and Eastern Washington University, earning a degree in education. He served in the National Guard, stationed at Fort Lewis Washington, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort Lewis California during the Vietnam Conflict.                                                                                                 
       John and his late wife Joanne, owned a small grocery store in Lewiston, Idaho and later moved to Nine Mile Falls, Washington, and stated a fencing business along with their three children. His career also consisted of real estate sales, car sales, and ended with All Filter Sales; a family owned business. He was always involved with the community that surrounded him; coaching and being a referee in all local athletic sports. 
He refereed in basketball, softball, baseball and football at the high school and recreational level. He also coached basketball in the Nine Mile Community for seven years. He is known by his ability to make kids learn and respect the community around them. Many young people found motivation from his coaching and refereeing in sports. John will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.
