James “Jim” Bargsten graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and went on to obtain his PE license. His expertise was small airport expansions, designing over 50 projects in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Jim enjoyed engineering challenges and was good at problem solving. He had an excellent memory, was detail oriented, and had the ability to think well outside the box to come up with both practical and workable solutions to unusual challenges. As both the design and field engineer, he would combine these skills with his experience and knowledge to quickly and effectively provide technical recommendations and solutions. Jim was passionate about engineering and used his talent and abilities to design and build equipment to use on the family farm. He was a skilled and meticulous craftsman and artist as well, and could make about anything out of wood or metal.
Jim is loved and will be remembered and missed by his family including his brothers, brother-in-law, sisters, sister-in-law, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
