Dominic Hopf's Memorial Service Letter

My son, Dominic (his Gram), was a very special human being with a heart of gold and a good soul given to him through Jesus Christ.

I pray that everyone who was blessed to know him will remember him for the person he was before Satan & his demons, whom unfortunately we have all encountered, took over his life.

Dominic was a kind and loving person that always was looking out for the people he was surrounded by, especially the vulnerable and bullied.

He loved and took pride in his physical and clean appearance. He as a little boy in grade school would lay out his clothes at bedtime for the next school day making sure that everything matched and looked proper.

I remember that after he finished elementary school I would receive calls from the parents of his friends asking for Dominic to come spend the weekends with their families. It was a sign to me of how special he was.

I wish he could have had the chance to achieve his life goals of going into the military and eventually becoming a navy seal.

I know that he would have been a great Dad and husband also given the chance. I know that he is in heaven in the loving hands of God and Jesus Christ now and the people who had passed before him were there to greet him to his final home. This included Kurt, his wonderful friend and partner of six years, his Dad, Ray Jack that he never got to meet on this earth, his great-grandfather, my Dad, Pop and Tom whom all treated him as their own.

I truly know that as his Mom I did my best to guide him through his short but sweet life. He brought a lot of joy, laughter (he had a great sense of humor) to the people that were surrounded by him, especially his sister, Kaytee, and me. He will be so misses but we all know that he is at peace with the Good Lord and we will be with him in heaven one day.

Thank you to all of you whom were gentle and kind to my boy.

I love you Dominic with all my heart and soul through all the wonderful memories I have of you.

See you in heaven hopefully sooner than later.
