Barbara Chittenden Obituary

Barbara Kay Chittenden, 63, of Grand Junction, CO passed away July 11, 2018 following an extended illness.

 

She was born January 16, 1955 in Sioux Falls, SD to Clyde and Jessie Chittenden. The family moved to Ottumwa, IA in 1961 where Barbara was a 1973 graduate of Ottumwa High School. She attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines, IA.

 

Barbara owned a bookkeeping business in the Los Angeles, CA area for several decades before retiring to Grand Junction, CO. Barbara married Harry Andrews on May 21, 1988.

 

Always gregarious, Barbara made friends wherever she went.  The adventures of Barb and Andy included travel to scenic vistas throughout the United States and exotic foreign countries such as Brazil, Mexico, England, Scotland, and Germany.  She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, skiing, and golfing. 

 

Surviving are her beloved husband, Harry (Andy) Andrews of Grand Junction, CO, her mother Jessie Chittenden of Des Moines, IA, sisters Ann (Robert) Schmidt of Houston and Mary Chittenden of Des Moines, aunt Anita (Fred) Daniels, three nieces (Katie, Marissa, Carrie), four nephews (Jason, John, Andrew, Matt), five great-nieces (Lara, Grace, Audrey, Zoe, Ashley) and one great-nephew (Evan), sisters-in-Law Carol (Jay) Lee and Elizabeth Chittenden, as well as many cousins.  She will also be greatly missed by her two beautiful four-legged fur-baby dogs,  Gracie and Tanner.  

 

She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Cary Clyde Chittenden.
