Anna Irene DeCamp

Anna Irene Tattershall was born on December 4, 1929 to Verl and Mabel in Rocky Ford, Colorado.  Anna was the oldest of 7.  Anna met Carl Bender in 1945.  Anna and Carl were married on June 4, 1946 in the German Lutheran Church in Rocky Ford. Carla Ann was born to Anna and Carl in 1949.  When Carla was two they moved to Fruita, Colorado.  Soon after the move in 1951, Sandie was born and Terri came along nine years later in 1961.  Anna worked at JC Penney for 30 years in a variety of departments.  She also modeled Penny clothing and acted as a bridal consultant.  Anna had a life-changing experience in 1970 when she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  She, Carl and Terri were baptized together in 1971 at Fruita Baptist Church where she has been a member since then until her death.  Carl passed away on April 17, 1984.  On October 10, 1986, Anna married Larry DeCamp.

You cannot really talk about Anna's life without including Larry.  They did everything together.  They loved gardening and fishing.  One of the many plaques read "One fine Fisherman Lives Here with the Catch of His Life"  Still tacked on a small bulletin board in the garage is a note penned by Anna to Larry with their favorite together verse. "I love my Larry, October 10, 1986, Phillipians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice".  Her children and grandchildren were a bright spot in her life. 

She is survived by her husband Lawrence DeCamp, brother James D. Tattershall (Judy), Sisters-in-law Esther (Lee) Tattershall, Joyce (Ben) Tattershall, Mary (Alex) Wilkinson, daughters Carla (Wayne) Feigal; Sandie (Dick) Brennan; Terri (David) Leach; grand children Laura and Jay Feigal; Ben Brennan, Erin (brennan) Knuckles, Cody (RoseAnne) Leach, Colt Leach; Jayden Brennan.

A graveside service will be held Monday June 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery 1175 17 1/2 Road, Fruita, Colorado.   A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday June 22, 2019 at 10:30 am, Fruita Faith Baptist Church 180 S.
