Mark, 75, of Whitewater, Colorado passed away peacfully in his sleep, surrounded by loved ones, at the V.A. Living Center, May 27, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Hattisburg, Mississippi. At the age of seventeen Mark joined the United States Air Force where he served eight years as an aerial photographer during the Vietnam War. He met his loving wife, Betty, in Helper, Utah in 1964, while on leave from the military. They were married in 1966 and had three children. Mark worked for Gilsonite Oil Refinery from 1967 until it closed. He then began his career as a truck driver until he retired in 2009. He is proceeded in death by his father and one grandson. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Coley Wells, their three children, Frank (Davianne) Coley, Theresa (Collin) Clock and Marcus Wells, his brother, Steve Wells, brother in law, Charles Erickson, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 and 12:00pm at Grand Valley Funeral Homes 2935 Patterson Rd, Grand Junction, Colorado 81504. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at the Vetrans Memorial Cemetary 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501.
