Pearl LaVonne Boxwell, 83, passed away at the Palisade Nursing Home August 13, 2019. She was born on September 17, 1935 in Boulder, Colorado to Mark and Grace Cruthers, graduating from Boulder Schools in 1943. She married Gene Campbell and later divorced, then married Donald Boxwell. Her main occupations were as a mother, homemaker, Realtor, and making flower arrangements for weddings in her husbands flower and gift shop. She was very talented and also invented an assortment of fire-cones in ropes, baskets etc... for starting fireplace fires at her business "Touchwood" here in Grand Junction, eventually selling it.
She loved her family, animals, friends, holidays (especially Christmas) , going camping and road trips. She loved people, all animals and birds. She was an amazing person.
LaVonne is survived by three sons: Gary Campbell, Jason Boxwell, and Drew Boxwell, Three daughters: Deborah Hallenbeck, June Maykowski, and Krystal Milton. One brother Don Cruthers and one sister Mary Udovich, and fifteen grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, both husbands, her brother and sister.
Cremation will take place. Memorial services to be Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Grand Valley Funeral Home Chapel 2935 Patterson Road, Grand Junction with Pastor Steve Easterday-McPadden officiating, of The First United Methodist Church of Grand Junction, downtown. With reception to follow at the Funeral Home.
