Harold Harrison Stride

Harold Harrison Stride, 83, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017, in his home in Grand Junction, CO.
A lifelong resident of Grand Junction, Harold graduated from Grand Junction High School and then shortly after married the love of his life Charlene May Stride in 1954. Harold served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1957, followed by a career with City Market where he retired as a warehouse foreman after 30 years. Harold had a zest for life and his family. He enjoyed fishing on the Mesa, collecting coins, bird watching, the Denver Broncos, movies (especially Disney!), fitness, and teaching Sunday school. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for more than 60 years. He was also a regular at Burger King, enjoying a lunchtime crossword puzzle, a Whopper Jr, french fries, and a Diet Coke every day for the past 30 years.
Harold was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents William Harrison Stride and Mary Francis Stride (Shanks), brother William, sister Ella May and grandchildren Jonathan Stride and Robin Sipe. Harold is survived by his wife of 63 years Charlene May Stride (Redfield), his children: daughter Linda Kay Harris, son Dr. Richard Joseph Stride and his wife Connie, daughter Terri Lynn Visger and her husband Jim, daughter Debra Joy Stride; his grandchildren: Jamie Passantino, Brandon Stride, Amber Deboer, Danielle Bever, Brady Sipe, Scott Visger, Chad Visger, Luke Stride, Jeffrey Visger; and his great grandchildren: Natalee Deboer, Cameron Deboer, Evan Stride, Ryan Passantino, Autumn Bever, Levi Bever, Sadie Visger and two on the way.
A Memorial service will be held Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Palisade Church of the Nazarene followed by interment at 1 pm at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction.
