Alisha Dawn Phillips was born on June 8th ,1983 in Oklahoma City, OK to Jeannette Lynn Phillips and Luthar Earl Phillips. Most of Alisha’s childhood was spent with her mother and sister, Emily, traveling to different states including California, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. In 2002 she lost her mother to a brain aneurysm. This was a great loss in her life which brought her and Emily closer to their younger sister Nicole. Alisha then went on to live in several more states including, Colorado and Oregon. Through these years she made many, many friends. Being surrounded by her friends and family was her greatest joy. In 2008 Alisha gave birth to Aspen Branham, and in 2010 she gave birth to Xander Branham. Alisha’s children were everything to her. They did everything together including exploring, painting, and spending time together. Alisha also loved art, painting, hiking, being active, and teaching was a great passion in her life. She spent 19 years teaching and caring for children. She genuinely loved each and every child that came into her life. On February 4th, 2019, at 35 years old, Alisha’s life ended. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Alisha is survived by her 2 children: Aspen Branham (10), and Xander Branham (8), of Gateway, Colorado. Her two sisters Emily Bellew of Portland, OR, and Nicole Phillips, of New York, NY. Her father Luther Phillips of Taft, TX. Her grandma Neva Ree Phillips of Taft, TX. Her two aunts Brenda Ellis of Noble, OK and Cheryl Lewis of Yantis, TX. Her uncle Deryl Phillips of Taft, TX. Her six cousins, Dawn Clift, Brent Ellis, Ryan Ellis, and John Butler of Oklahoma. Also, Carrie Trees, Beth Debney, and Bill Phillips, of Texas. Her niece Azure Bellew and nephew Saywer Bellew of Oregon.
Alisha is preceded in death by her mother Jeannette Lynn Phillips, and her three grandparents C.R Phillips, Gene and Sam Butler.
Her service will be held on Saturday February 9th at 11am at the Grand Valley Funeral home in Grand Junction, Colorado.
