Joseph Wayne Finnell

Joseph Wayne Finnell was born in Portland, Oregon September 2, 1950 to Edna and James Finnell. He spent his childhood in Tillamook, Oregon, Chile, S. America and Miami, Florida. He graduated from high school in 1969 at Mt. Eden High School in Hayward, California. He served in the U.S.Army as a medic 1970 and 1971. He married Jeanine Hilton September 2, 1978 in Napa, California. In 1987, he graduated from Colorado Mesa University with an Associate Degree in Nursing. He especially enjoyed working in the Operating Room, spending his career in Colorado and Alaska. The most important thing in life was his relationship with God.

Joe finished his life November 7 at Hopewest Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jeanine Finnell, son Mark (Laura), daughter Chantal (Austin) Myers and grandchildren Owen, Kellen, Isabel and Benton. He is also survived by his sister, Joan (John) Hosler, sister-in-law MaryAnn Finnell, mother-in-law, Marlys Hilton, and sisters- in - !aw , Janet (Morrie) Rupp and Elaine (Rich) Davis, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James and Larry.

A memorial service will be held December 30 at 11am at the Mesa Community Center in Mesa, Colorado. A potluck will follow.
